Stephen Bitterolf, the Wine Director at Crush , conceived of this event with an eye towards the famous La Paulée Burgundy dinners where everyone competes to bring the finest bottles and people walk from table to table tasting each others' wines. That's right - Austrian wine, La Paulée style.

"20 wines!" exclaimed a fellow particpant at today's Master Class tasting of Catalunya wines led by Josep Roca, Co-Proprietor, Sommelier, and Wine Director of the ( Catalunya based) Michelin 3-star restaurant El Celler. Today we had the opportunity to interview Patricia Ely, Sonoma Restaurant & Wine Bar's Wine Director, about the upcoming inaugural DC Wine Week.

Sonoma will be kicking off the inaugural DC Wine Week's festivities by hosting the Official Opening Event. Guests will enjoy great food utilizing local and sustainable farmers and sources - including but not limited to fantastic cheese & house-made charcuterie.
