2010, Paso Robles. 13.5% alc. 2,100 cases. 60% roussanne, 35% grenache blanc, 5% picpoul blanc. Pale straw-gold color; lovely balance and poise, light on its feet with a wonderful well-knit texture with finely-honed acidity and plangent steely, limestone qualities; again, a white wine of shades and degrees of nuance, lightly spiced, delicately fitted with lemon and pear flavors and a hint of apricot; all bound with that spruce-tinged minerality. Excellent. About $ 40

…and a hint of the acidity to come. In the mouth I found melon, lemon, grass, tropical notes, lemongrass, and grapefruit. The Roussanne definitely became apparent on the palate and while the wine certainly had nice acidity, the Roussane lent some weight to the wine and gave it some interesting character.

…33 percent grenache ( blanc), 26 percent roussanne, 20 percent picpoul blanc, 12 percent marsanne and 9 percent viognier. The grapes ferment and the wine ages four months in neutral French oak barrels, that is, barrels that have been used to age wine several times so their influence will be minimal. The wine did not go through malolactic fermentation. The result is a white wine that displays a beautiful medium gold color and an appealing bouquet of jasmine and honeysuckle, almonds, …

Winery has increased their production dramatically over the last few years and this Roussanne, Israel's first single varietal example should encourage others to grow and produce wines from this seemingly well suited Rhone varietal. They have a wide selection of interesting whites and sparkling wines to taste.

3) 2012 Tabor Roussanne ( 14% NIS 69) previously scored 91 points

This wine is a blend of 71% marsanne and 29% roussanne. The marsanne comes from a vineyard in Carneros and the roussane comes from a vineyard in the Petaluma Gap. Both vineyards are within the Sonoma AVA. The wine was not oaked at all.

The nose on this wine presents an earthy fusion of mineral, herbal and floral aromas. The palate is vibrant and tangy, with lemon, lime and melon flavors. It finishes with lingering melon, peach and mineral flavors. This is a fun wine, but …

You're not allowed to call it Cornas as it doesn't meet AC rules. No whites allowed. It's a blend of 60% Viognier and 40% Roussanne. Sees a bit of oak. Only a dozen dozen coming into the country. Importer: Fourth Wave Wine

Rory Story does not send me Pinot like what he does Mattinson. Oh no. He wants to hurt me. Here's a blend of Marsanne ( 60%), Rousanne ( 20%) and Viognier ( 20%) made with third crop fruit and all of those special things that Rory does (or doesn't do) to wines in his shed.

It's a new wine to the John Duval range - a blend of marsanne ( 62%), roussanne ( 26%) and viognier, mostly grown in the Marananga and Kalimna sub-regions of the Barossa Valley (though the viognier is from the Eden Valley).
