* Croft Pink Rosé Port ( NV) : Historic Port house offers this unique wine that targets the millennial demographic who are more curious and adventurous. This wine is a first of its kind that's unique and interesting; but you cannot sip it like a Rosé ( 19.5% ABV ) on a warm summer day. In the glass, aromas and flavors of strawberry and cherry pie dominate with some residual sweetness and a viscous texture. In my humble opinion, great for cocktails and night-clubs. Get a bottle …

Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve Grand Cru NV
Lots of pear drops, fresh apples and a bit of yeast. Not well structured, starts off a bit crude with a tangy, tart flavour. It then settles down to be a nice fresh clean wine. I've had this before and it tasted a lot better than it did this evening. 88pts
Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru NV
Light, fresh and minerally with some oyster shell aromas and a touch of white pepper and lemon sweetness. The palate is clean, crisp …
Tasted this quickly in a smallish bracket of higher end Australian vintage sparklers (these days I choose not to review NV without a disgorgement date or cuvee number) and it stood out as the top wine. I think the Achilles heel of Australian sparkling is coarse, grating acidity - this does not suffer that curse.

…Green Bay Packers out of Boise State, Nevada, and Louisville respectively. A combination of talent and injuries landed all three in the starting lineup for ten games as rookies. The seeds of a lifelong friendship friendship were sown. And over a conversation at Milwaukee steakhouse "Carnivore," so was a different project...

In the last few weeks, the Keystone Kops have taken over the Republican presidential caucuses. First Mitt Romney was declared the winner of the Iowa caucuses by a scant eight votes , and then Republican Party officials in Iowa said that there were so many local reporting problems that a winner could not be declared even though Rick Santorum was 34 votes ahead. Oops, they declared Santorum the winner anyway. In Nevada, Republican officials decided …
…Champagne is divided into vintage and non-vintage ( NV) wine. NV Champagnes are the most common and often include grapes from 3 or more harvests. Every so often, a vintage is so remarkable that the winemaker will declare it a vintage year. Remember that while one House may declare a vintage, another may not. Vintage and NV wines are at the discretion of the winemaker.
Our favorite bubbly is made from any one or more of chardonnay, pinot noir, and/or pinot meunier grapes. It also comes …

We were lucky enough to turn around after Hawaii and head to Telluride, CO, for the first annual Wine Beserkers Ski, Wine & Dine Festival. Foursight Winemaker Joe Webb is part of the Beserkers forum, and when he heard ski and wine, we were booked for the weekend.
We drove out this time, lugging five pairs of skis and four cases of wine. It's been a long time since I've driven through Nevada and Utah, and I forgot how long, straight, and high (altitude) those roads …
