…18 years , Margaux Wood Finish, but its price, which exceeds 300 Euros a bottle makes it only available for happy wallets (and that's not the case).

And my conclusion is that if you have the chance, it's worth tasting a very aged whisky : 25 or 30 years if possible. But not for a crazy tasting in the …

Apart from that, the application forms for a license and the supporting documentation to be handed in, are absolutely extra-ordinary and only a qualified specialist would be able to do it! Such is life in the inheritor states of the Western Roman Empire! I hear that it's even worse in the East though!

After that, I went home and went to bed!

…producers, whereas Cognac is made by big producers who have many millions of marketing Euros, and as we all know, perception is everything.

Having said this, when Armagnac gets old, it can have an outstanding beauty and balance, and I was presented with the chance to try a trio of old brandies and I wondered how an old Armagnac would stand up to some younger Cognacs.

They brought us out to the jardin restaurant where the wine started at 88 Euros and the Entrees at 60 Euros.

It was hot and a bit boring ... we have a great view of the port from our own apartment so even though the view was spectacular we have seen it.

So Ron found another restaurant higher up that was formal yet also happening. Entrees here were abut 60 yet the wine list more comprehensive.

The only faux pas of the otherwise excellent staff was this: as a certified sommelier, I know …
