It's been a while since the Onion, America's Finest News Source, tried to take over the NY Wine and Culinary Center. But their newest prank is even funnier and so far fetched that New York liquor stores, restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and breweries are laughing themselves silly.

Just recently, the New York State Liquor Authority (who apparently is in on the gag) sent out a survey asking wholesalers, liquor stores, and producers their thoughts on "at rest." …

I had the 2009 Merlot at the Canandaigua Culinary Center just after the holidays. This is a wonderful, medium bodied dry red. A lovely, elegant wine, with lovely dark raspberries and plum up front with good acidity, and nice tannins. The fruit lasted a long, long time. A lovely, lovely wine.

This is a lovely rose made from merlot grapes. Light pink wine, this wine was bright with strawberry and light cherry with hints of lime. The bright acidity keep the light fruits zesty and fun. A nice …

- It was an eventful weekend this past weekend, with me and Mrs. Wino attending the Rendezvous with Riesling event at the New York Wine & Culinary Center ( NYWCC) in Canandaigua on Friday night, which showcased Rieslings from over 30 New York wineries. My goal at this event was to try and get an idea of how the ‘08 Finger Lakes Rieslings were shaping up, but there were only six ‘08's there and many of them were recently bottled and still suffering from some "bottle …

An attempted French invasion, spurred on by the staff at The Onion, America's Finest News Source, of the New York Wine Culinary Center was repelled over the weekend in upstate New York. Like the Kamakazi winds that the ancient Japanese believed protected their islands from invasion, a massive gust of common sense blew through upstate New York last night, and smote the vile French occupiers that had temporarily squatted at the Culinary Center. Like the French of the mid-1700s, …

Asked what had happened to "Taste of New York" Culinary Center officials blamed the competition: "There are too many local restaurants here. Good ones, serving quality food, like Suzanne's and Red Newt Bistro. We even served free peanuts and pretzels at the bar, but it didn't do it."

Napa Culinary Center officials were so concerned with these events, there are reports that they have considered joining forces with Mad Magazine, and are considered …
