Clay - accompanying oil cloth would often be clay. This was a magical combination. We lived in the desert and only saw clay when we dug down 10-12 inches and then it would be so much sand mixed in with it. But the modeling clay was all earth, all muddy and slimy and smelling like a dirt path in the forest after a good rain. It would later remind me of wines from Abruzzo, especially Montepulciano. From a fan: "the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is quite possibly the best wine I have ever had. Yours is the only wine we get that …

Clay helped his father during his teen years and learned a great deal about wine. After college, he ultimately became winemaker at Zaca Mesa winery and took the position with Wild Horse in 2008. Winemaker Chrissy Whittmann assists him in his tasks.
These are the wines they make:

Then two buddies who went out into the woods looking for him. When teenage Cassie and her brother, Clay, return to town in search of their estranged father, nothing seems right: The sheriff's more worried about her land deal than the mystery, Cassie's only co-worker is a narcoleptic, and there's a ghost in Clay's bedroom. …

This wine strikes with its stately floral smell of roses and violets, mixed with delicate notes of plum and sour black cherry. The Monte Fiore bouquet is also characterized by a harmonious combination of light spicy flavors due to a short period of wood refining.
Even if Monte Fiore presents a complex taste, due to an enveloping structure and smooth gentle tannins, it suddenly offers a unique surprising …
